I think you missed the point of the article- A Swiftech at newegg runs $67.00 + shipping $6.00 is pretty close to $80.00. The Alpha Is $41.00 including shipping. Thermalright SLK-600 $45.00 w/shipping. Higher performance sinks cost more and the AX7 and Glaciator are on parity cost wise for...

A Better Panaflo?!?!?!

Fans are applied on a system resistance curve. The augmented panaflows exhibit a 8 dBa reduction at a particular point on the system resistance curve. If you do not know your system resistance and you do not know the point on the fan curve and match the two you will never see the noise...

You are asking the right question. You need a reference or constant point for comparison, and fan Noise is that pivot point. Swifttech,Alpha and the AX7 are all hybrid cu/al sinks with the same volumetric size give or take a cubic inch. They are homologous sinks and perfect for comparisons...

What a waste of time!

How Noise Pollution turns $80 heatsinks into $30 heatsinks I think this artiicle in a round about way explains why fan adapters do not work. Take an Oversized sink like the AX7 (20 cubic inches)slow the fan down so it is at an equal noise level and it takes a performance hit of 6C on a 100 W...

case temp is a little high most people run 2-3 C above ambient 22-24C might be an average temp for this time of year. The 17C delta at idle looks to high. with a G2 you should be no more than 9 -11 C above the case temp at full load. Again open your case and throw a fan on it- it will tell you...

Well I do not think it is worth the upgrade if you have an Alpha, volcano7+ , Akura or half a dozen other heat sinks. If you have a FOP 38 then it worth doing. For noise it is a pretty good alternative with a slower fan, But then again my Glaciator II has the same performance same noise and...

I got my thermalright AX-7 from coolerguys today with the delta 80mm - defintely the king if you can stand the noise. Dropped my temps 3 C over my Glaciator II on a 1.33. Dumped the Delta for a nmb b30 80mm I had laying around and dropped the noise to a more reasonble level, about the same...

Are NMB fans any good?

Panaflow's with the hydrowave bearing are high quality and used in workstations and servers, generally more expensive the bearings have a MTBF of 120,000 hours. At higher rpms the bearings reduce overall fan noise 2-3 dBA. They have a nice low noise series, FBL I think is the model prefix and...

Are NMB fans any good?

They are the largest fan manufacturer producing 50 million units annually. Their factory in Shanghi is a mile long and fully automated. Raw stock goes in one end, finished product out the other. Fully contained water is recycled and the air is a clean room enviorment. They are a Zero tolerance...
