Looking for a dialup friendly DC project

Find a Drug is one that I looked at, but what stands out to me there is that the consulting company that runs the program sells the data and also makes money consulting. This may be all moral, but it seems like they created the project, use free computing power then make a profit selling it...

Looking for a dialup friendly DC project

Short story is that I got 2 smoking fast computers dedicated to D projects. While I was using dsl I made it to the top 100 area of Lifemapper and top 100 area of TA F@H. I no longer needed the bandwidth, switched back to a good 56k line and despite plenty of help, I'm unable to get F@H to run...

If I uncheck Internet explorer settings, It appears I have to use a proxy setting. The auto install shows "localhost" as the address and "port 8080". I could try not checking anything. When I run my mouse over the red icon it now shows "starting local stats count". Never seen that before...

Everything, EXCEPT F@H, works perfectly. The configure connection is set to ask permission before connecting and to use internet explorer settings. After formatting and still having the problem leads me to continue to believe that dialup at F@H is the problem. 2 computers, 2 identical problems.

Nobody seems to know what this means. Thinking it may be my computer, and it being a dedicated machine, I reformatted it and loaded everything fresh and got the same thing. A posting on the F@H got no answers.

Windows XP won't shut down

Its a self-built xp2800/A7N8X. Everything works perfect except when I click "turn off" it shows windows logging off, then says shutting down, but then just reboots. I have to hold the power button to get the computer to turn off. I tried one option of unchecking the "auto restart" box. No...
