AMD 14.x Catalyst Overclocking is Broken

Buying new card, asking for opinions GTX 780 vs R9 290

Generally, I'd prefer Nvidia, they just seem more efficient and cooler. However, I got a Sapphire Tri-x R9-290 because; It was cheaper in Oz I run 3 monitors and it has 4GB Vram, I don't believe 3GB is enough with BF4 already using 2.7GB and Titanfall using all 4GB (despite the crap...

Should I get an AMD CPU for gaming?

not necessarily, fewer strong cores are generally better than more weak cores. Intel cores are around double the performance of AMD cores and the I3 has hyperthreading and is much more efficient.

What video card option should I use for 7680X1440

well my 2x 7950 only just drives 3x 1680x1050 monitors at 60fps in BF4 at stock clocks (fine if o/c) and use 2.7GB of memory, so I think 2x670 2GB is nowhere near enough for your monitors. I think you should consider 2x770 4GB, 2x780 or 2xR9-290...... and did the right thing ordering 2xR9-290

Engine braking with stick shift

how to fit a 7mm sshd in 9.5mm hdd space in laptop?

I used 2.5mm cardboard until I got a spacer with a later SSD and used that instead. You might be able to buy them separately from ebay

I use a 42" 1080 TV, because I can sit 2m from it and it doesn't strain my eyes so much as sitting close.

It can also depend on whether they use encapsulated coils or not. It's down to the quality of the components used, the loading on them and switching frequency of the VRMs. A properly engineered product would be designed and tested so as not to emit that noise. But cost cutting measures would...
