kw3i basicaly answered the question, but setting up 4 drives in a RAID 0/1 cnfiguration on a normal IDE system isn't very useful because of the way IDE works. Most IDE RAID controllers only have 2 IDE channels capable of two device on each channel, but only one device can be access at a time...

RAID or not?

You're better off getting the IBM 75GXP. A RAID 0 setup with two of the 5400rpm Maxtor drive would probably give you a slightly higher increase in sustained transfer rate, but not much more then the single IBM drive, but the IBM drive will give you much quicker access time because it's a 7200...

How do you an OEM install of windows 98?

I'm surprised I'm one of only a few who does a custom OEM Windows installation. I use to work at a local computer shop and we created our own OEM installation for the computers we sold. This requires the Windows 98 CD, I'm not sure if the retail version has it since I only have the OEM CD. 1)...

STUTTERING HARD DRIVE--HELP!!!

It sounds like you don't have DMA enable on your hard drive's and CD. Goto Device Manager and make sure there's a checkmark on "DMA" for your hard drives and CD-ROMS, that should get rid of the stuttering. -LeeBear

Poll: KT7A RAID or KT7A & Promise fasttrack?

I also suggest getting the Promise RAID Controller seperate. Not only because Promise is a bit more reliable in my books then Highpoint but with a seperate controller you can use it on the next motherboard you upgrade to. Plus the cost of the Promise controller is minimal if you are not afraid...
