Vista Boot Help

I spent about an hour re-building the PC again, this time removing the CPU and reseating it, and re-doing all the cabling. Somehow, magically, my PC is now working, and at the very least, the cable management is much cleaner and more organized. I didn't do anything different from before...and...

Vista Boot Help

I recently cleaned out my system, and re-did the cabling and in the process, cleaned the CPU and Heatsink. My case has a removable mobo tray, so it was very easy to unplug everything, and then clean the CPU without removing it from the socket. I used arctic silver's two-part cleaning solution...

Am I screwed? New CPU + RAM ---> Cannot Boot into Windows

I have to wait for the hard drive to come. Ordered from Newegg Yesterday, it should get here next week sometime. If I can solve this problem WITHOUT having to re-install windows, all my software, downloading updates (on my apartment's SLOOOOOW internet....) transferring my data, etc etc...

I forgot to mention also that I switched back to the old memory (Corsair Dominator PC2-8500) to eliminate another point of failure. The only thing that has changed is the CPU, this is essentially the same machine as from before it stopped working. I'm of course, running everything at stock...

c'mon guys, give me some credit :) Anyway, again, the boot drive will not boot. If I boot off the CD, then again, I cannot get past the initial load of the drivers....so I can't get into repair console, do a repair install, or even do a clean install if I wanted to. The boot order has NOT...

When booting from the CD, it starts to load all the drivers and such required to install windows, and then I get the error I mentioned above. I have TWO hard drives in the system. It will not boot from the boot drive, and I get the same error as above regardless of which hard drive I plug...

And I should mention BIOS recognizes my hard drives are present, not WINDOWS, since I cannot boot into windows or get to the installation from the disc.

I just upgraded my processor from an intel E6300 to an E6700, and upgraded my ram from Corsair Dominator PC8500 to Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC8500.... That part went fine. The computer posts and all of that. The problem is my computer will no longer boot into windows, and instead will...

thinking about getting the Dell 2407 FPW

Killr, what type of games do you play? I just ordered this monitor and should be getting it tomorrow. I play pretty much just fps and RTS on the PC (with the occasional MMORPG and Oblivion of course). I've heard differing opinions on the input lag and am wondering how much of an issue...

Memtest and prime95

Regarding memtest, I notice there is a bootable binary. I am assuming I can stick that file into a USB key and boot from there? I don't have a floppy drive in my new rig, and I don't currently have any CD's to burn the iso onto....

Safe Temperature range for XP 4200+? (Overclocked)

OK, thanks. I couldn't figure out what the heck that 90+C temp was. Any idea why one instance of Prime would fail while the other one continues to run just fine? Again, I can run ONE instance all day, but when I run two, one will fail within 5-10 minutes (not always at the same place)...
