Worthwhile upgrade?

Is it worth it to go from: ABIT IC7 P4 3.2E 128MB BFG 6800 OC to Asus A8N-E Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 256MB eVGA 7900 GT CO for ~$730? I mostly do heavy Photoshop work and I want to get back into gaming again. My monitor is a 2405FPW so I'd like to play at 1920x1200. TIA.

Calibrate LCD TV with PC?

Help: comp hangs at verifying dmi pool data

I've disabled all the IDE drives via the BIOS and it'll say to replace the system disk. Right now I have only one HDD connected and 2x of the sticks of RAM and it's still hanging.

Can't install Windows

I forgot to mention I tried 2 different optical drives as well (DVD-ROM and CDRW). Tried 2 CDs, 2 hard drives, and brand new IDE cables. I doubt it's the CPU since as you mentioned if that was the case it probably wouldn't even post. Motherboard is the only thing I can't eliminate so I guess...

Yes, it shows the full 120GB. I cleared the CMOS and in the BIOS set it to "load fail safe." I doubt it's the memory because I have tried 3 different sticks. All I can narrow it down to is the motherboard like you mentioned, but it's not that old and it was running fine before, so I'm just...

Worth upgrading 9800 Pro?

Well, I'd also like my brother to be able to enjoy CS:S and like I said he's on a GF4 MX. So is there a better option than the scenario I posted a few posts up? Is there anything coming out soon (like spring) that would bring down the 6800GT/Ultra prices? Do I just let my brother worry about...

Thanks guys. All the reviews I looked at were all for not anyways. I called my local Frys (which I should have done before I started) and the price of the BFG was $299 and they wouldn't even match their own website price, haha. I think what I'll end up doing is waiting for the 6600GT AGPs...
