Do I need to reformat when upgrading processors?

I've never had to while running in the same processor family, never even installed new drivers. BIOS and OS have automatically recognized SLot A Athlons, Athlon XPs, and Xeons without even a hiccup.

U320 cards won't startup

have latest BIOS installed, Option ROM Scan is enabled. For some reason these U320 cards just won't run on this board.

U320 cards won't startup

have this problem with LSI U320 and Adaptec U320 cards on Tyan S2603 (dual Xeon -603 motherboard). Neither brand Ultra320-R cards will fire up on this motherboard. Both cards are PCI-X 133 and backward compatible. Neither will fire up in the 64 or 32 bit slot. I get an error message that...

Help required with PC switching itself off!

when I upgraded from XP1800 to XP2500 I had to raise the FSB from 133 to 166 to get the CPU to run at the correct speed. The OCZ PC2700 I was running @266MHz(PC2100) wouldn't run @333MHz(PC2700) -a bad 256MB stick showed itself when running memtest86. I'm mentioning this especially after what...

do socket 754 boards support dual channel memory?

thinking about doing first major upgrade in a few years & none of the socket 754 boards I looked at say they support dual channel memory-do they all ? or none?

PX191 vs 1901fp

....just wondering if anyone's seen these 2 side by side. Got my PX191 about a week ago and it is amazing. Gave my 1702fp to my daughter, went to adjust it after using the planar for a week and I hate to say it but the 1702 is junk compared to the planar. 700:1 contrast for the px191 and 600:1...

DO NOT BUY ABIT SR7-8X!!!!

thanks for the headsup and the link to the HardOCP review of this board-I thought about using this for my 1st Intel system-but since it sucks for overclocking I think I'll wait for the IT7-Max2 boards -hopefully they'll be better overclockers

Best P4 Overclocker?
