Yeah I do worry a lot about my PC but so far I have not destroyed it yet (knock on wood). I appreciate the useful replies.

Wet cloth used to clean PC

This my concern. My case has vent holes in it, where water could have conceivably dripped in. The PC was powered off at the time though, and appears to be working now. Given that it is currently working, would there be any other causes for concern for damage? Regarding the monitor, it too...

Yes, sadly, this did happen. I just had this vision in my head of the PC going fizzle-pop when I turned on the PC, so I thought I would see what you guys thought before I turned on the switch.

There was a cleaning incident with my PC, where a wet cloth (run under the tap, then wrung out) was used to wipe down my monitor, keyboard, mouse, and case. I noticed little droplets of water on everything. Thankfully the PC was off at the time and I have not turned it on yet. I have let it sit...

Just got this from ASUS...

Anyone know if we're supposed to return all of the accessories (I/O plate, SATA cables) with our old B2 stepping motherboards? Tried e-mailing Asus but no response yet.

Just got this from ASUS...

Tried clicking on the form link many times last night and it kept giving me the "You are not authorized to view this page" error. Did you have to e-mail them to get the form, or just click on the link? Edit: nevermind, just saw Anomaly1964's message.

Possible HDD damage?

The hard drives are probably fine. To put your mind at ease, you could try running a full Error Scan through HDTune (free trial). Also SpinRite (not free) can do an extensive test on your hard drive, where it reads, writes, reads, writes every sector at a low level to make sure that nothing...

Keep it simple for me...

I upgraded from a Core i5 760 to a Core i5 2500K (both not overclocked), which is perhaps comparable in normalized terms to your OC scenario, and here is what I noticed: - Win7-64 loads a bit faster - Web pages do not load any faster - Have not done any testing on games or any performance...

how necessary is it to install chipset drivers?

I agree with VirtualLarry above. Even Intel describes chipset drivers as primarily just accurate labels for hardware in Device Manager...

Memory voltage, QVL, and stability questions

Thanks Vincent. I have run MemTest for about 5 passes on each individual RAM module, and then overnight on both modules in a dual-channel config. No errors so far. Anything else I need to check, or does the memory seem OK?

Is it absolutely necessary to clear the CMOS after upgrading the BIOS? I reset the BIOS to defaults, then upgraded the BIOS successfully using EZFlash, but then I noticed that Gary Key had posted that clearing the CMOS was recommended. If my system is working after the BIOS upgrade, do I need...

Anyone ever use USB Flash Drive Tester?

I am trying to figure out if my USB flash drive is bad or not, so I downloaded USB Flash Drive Tester v1.14. However, I noticed that I when I start the test, and then abort it midway, then eject/re-insert the flash drive, my drive says that it needs to be formatted. I only have one flash...
