What's up with all the laptops coming out with huge low-res screens? My current laptop (14.1") is 1440x900... 1366x768 just doesn't seem like enough pixels to work with on that size a screen.
Looks like a nice board... from what I've heard HDMI's video interface is the same as DVI, so would an HDMI->DVI cable work to drive a normal 20" LCD (1680x1050)?

It should be noted that Newegg lists it as OEM, so it may come with no accessories (even the backplate). If you get it like this, you can contact ASUS and in the past they would ship you the backplate for free. Just a heads up.
These say they're capable of recording too... any comment on the recording quality? Seems like it'd be a pretty cheap 2GB recorder alone. Throw in mp3 playback, and it still seems like a deal with a crappy UI.
My guess would be they make money by putting a referral link in the email they send you on a pricing update. If the person clicks through there to make the purchase, they make money off it.

If I remember correctly, HEC is was the manufacturer for some of the top tier PSU vendors back in the day. I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about their products in the past.
