Network Printer Problems - Need Assistance

So let me see if i have this right, you are at the xp machine opening a dos resorce that is on the server and it will not print. If that is the case try this.MKB

Nforce4: failed ?

Look at tech reports review of the fx-55 and then look at anands. TR uses a via chipset, anand uses a nf4 ref board. specifically look at the nero and winzip tests. Then get back to me on how bad the nf4 is. Anand TR

AMD Opteron -vs- Athlon 64

If you got 2 cpus then you need 4 memory chips. each cpu uses its own memory. also 940 mothrboards are 6 or more layers and 939 are 4.

Comments on new network layout

Well if all this is for bit torrents have you tried using different port ranges for each of the pc's? i.e. set your torrent to use 10001 to 10010, set your buddies to 10011 to 10020 and direct your router to send the first set to your pc and your bud's ports to his pc.

Intel says WHAT???

What I find a bit upsetting is that Intel has been holding the door open for AMD for months, it seems, but AMD doesn't look like it wants to step through it. It's like. "you go ahead." No' you go." No, no, you first, I insist." COME ON AMD go for the jugular.

"Call receiver" technology... what is it called?

I think what you are looking for is a phone system that does uniform call distribution. Like this? panasonic pbx Or did you want something a little less elaborate?

Is AMD killing the 754

Well I for one assumed that 462 would bite the dust first, but it looks like amd is hanging on to that one. I guess they are keeping 462 because integrated graphics look difficult to do on the athlon64 platform. I also thought that they would make some 90nm parts for the 754. I wasn't...

Is AMD killing the 754

When AMD announced the new 90nm parts at 3000+, 3200+, and 3500+ I assumed the 3000 and 3200 were 754 parts, but it now looks like they are 939, and comming in cheap. Now also consider they announced they will make a sempron for 939 and havent announced any chips for 754 and that the 3700+ for...

Router issues? Network traffic problems?

Are you using the latest firmware for the router. I had a similar problem with my linksys router and upgrading to the latest helped.

AMD64 fx53 and asus A8v deluxe stability issues

What vid card and what power supply do you have? Try running prime 95 tourture test. This doesn't use the vid card much. If prime is ok it is your vid card or to small of a power supply to supply the vid card and everything else. Just my $.02

Throwing down the gauntlet to Anandtech

Rough estimate or not the numbers should be based in reality. Let me give you an example. Moving from 512KB cache to 1MB cache on S754 gets you from .95 to 1.0. Moving from 512KB cache to 1MB cache on S939 gets from 1.04 to 1.15. So why does doubling the cache in one instance get you ~5% and...

Throwing down the gauntlet to Anandtech

According to Anandtechs CPU cheatsheet on Athlon 64 here moving from 512KB cache to 1MB gets you about 5% speed increase. OK, I'll buy that. Moving from single channel memory to dual gets you almost 10%. Hmm, that one is a little hard to swallow. Doing both gets you better than 20%. WHAT...
