Is there anything to look for when shopping for a powered USB 2.0 hub?

a7v and 1004a

Believe it or not, there's already a 1004d ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/Socket_A/VIA_Chipset/Apollo_KT133/A7V/ but what changes it makes I have no idea, remember 1004a is still the last bios asus have actually launched, and the letters to me indicate that these are still beta. If...

Question about Asus A7V BIOS temp readings

I'm not sure if it's compensation or not, but later bios revisions definately up the reported temperature, my Tbird 900 is reported at ~55ºc , and it used to idle at about 48. Although, I think the reason for the temperature increase might be caused by the CpU not idling correctly within...

The latest drivers for A7V and lack of 4x agp plus sblive crackles???

Nice one, downloaded it and staright away 4x agp, which was nice. Now all i have left to do is, crack the crackles when Seti is running, the occasional hangs while in optimal and getting those irqs a little more portioned out. Then I might try installing some more hardware, like a NIC and Tv Card.

MadBazz, i'm having a few problems downloading the 6.31 drivers from 3d chipset, so let me know how good they are, and also could you tell me if you know of any alternate sites for them. Cheers

Joeyd - I did mate, in Normal my system, 99% stable, in Optimal not quite so stable, but in either of them I still can't get agp 4x StickHead - I have, i'm using the WDM drivers from C/LABS minus the sb16 emu Blammo, ta for the suggestions, is this the registry fix: REGEDIT4...

Shared IRQ 9 on Asus A7V

Believe it or not, i've tried all the bug fixes and reg edits to stop hangs and getting my card to 4x agp. I've read a few articles about acpi, and I'm not too convinced it's that anymore, although I would like to see my devices share irqs with less than 5 others, I know the a7v is a bit short...

There doesn't appear to be an option to disable ACPI in the bios and it doesn't allow you to disable using the windows Device Manager. So ideas here would be appreciated, but after reading a couple of those technical documents i'm not to convinced that this is the source of my problems. So any...

How much will I benefit from having ACPI installed o nmy system, if I disable it will it give me the stability I want, or will it subtract from system performance ... What is ACPI anyway

In win2k I get about 5 devices using irq 9, which I think is the source of many of my problems, On IRQ 9 windows reports: ACPI, SB Live! Value (without emulation on), C/Labs GTS 2, USB Controller, and Ata-100 which to me seems a little odd. I think this might also be why i get crackles in...

A7V + sblive = PAIN

I couldn't find anything in the FAQ to help with that problem, and I haven't installed the Legacy stuff, so at the moment it only needs the one.

Weird monitoring reports on A7V

I've also noticed that with all the jumpers and bios settings set to defaul, the 3.3 v rail seems to always be around 3.46 V, which I think is the reason my TBird 900, is always reported to be clocked to 909 mHz
