    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

It doesn't. The 1001 bios overvolts your cpu as well when set to auto. You said it yourself it an earlier post. You are of course free to do with my recomandations what you like. Anyway, the difference in my country is not 50 USD, only 16 USD, well worth it :)

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

It turns out I've bought fram a very serious and customer friendly webshop. The MB goes back due to inconsistencies in bios (1001 doesn't detect cpu right, beta bios doesn't detect memory timings right, can't get more than 1,45 V etc). I'm going for the deluxe edition...can only recomend others...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

I'll take that as a confirmation that you have experienced the same as me. Guess we just have to wait until the bios is official, meanwhile ASUS support is silent as the grave.... I tried to rma my board, but the dealer wouldn't take it back either. Guess I'm stuck with it :(

Experiences of 64 bits operating system installs on AMD64

I don't know how to follow the instructions in the fedoraforums thread, I'm pretty sure I will be able to install the cumulative nvidia patch :) Thanks for pointing me to it. Now, if I only could get suse9.2 64bit to install....

Experiences of 64 bits operating system installs on AMD64

I haven't seen that thread bersl2, thanks. Guess I am not used to patching graphic drivers.... As you may have noticed, only one 64bit linux installed at all, FC3. I don't see any fixes for a strange cursor. I know of a solution...

Experiences of 64 bits operating system installs on AMD64

I desperatly want a working 64 bits OS on my comp. Here's my setup: AMD64 3200+ ASUS A8N-SLI (non-deluxe) 1 sata and two IDE drives and a IDE dvd combo drive. OS goes on one IDE drive. Leadtek GF6600GT So far this is what I've tried, remember 64bits only SUSE 9.2 (did not...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

As Visual said, the 1001 bios can get you up to 1.57 V with bios set tu 1,52 and clockgen set to 1,45 V. While this is good, the beta bios cannot raise me anywhere above 1,45 V, as I experienced before. I flashed back to 1001 and, with a new d/l back to beta. Same result as I had before. Guess...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

I'll have to try another flash for sure, but if I can get it up to 2600 with the 1001, I might just stick with it :) It's been a while, but I think I could reach 2200 stable (1,4 V) and 2400 unstable (didn't get enough volt to cpu, just 1,45). All with the beta bios. Readings in the hw...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

If I understand you correctly, I'd set 1,52V in bios and use glockgen to get to 1,58 (controlling it in cpu-z or speedfan). The problem I've had with the beta bios is that no matter what I did, I couldn't get above 1,45 V (readings in cpu-z). Also, when I was in some of the menues in bios (in...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

This is actually quite usefull information Visual :) I downpatched my bios to 1001 and tried again, but now the vcore readings were strange. I could get higher than on the beta bios (now up to 1,56 something) if I belive cpu-z. Glockgen gave lower readings and the bios itself also gave...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

Well let me tell you that on my board, I cannot raise the vcore above 1,45V with my winchester 3200+. This is why I want a new bios. I too has been in contact ASUS about this. And our friend Ailon did not answer any BIOS question that I have, but suggested I sendt inn my CPU for testing. I...

When you start a thread like this, you deserve to get some smack! Win2k is suck, yeah right!

Which OS for a p166 mmx?

Thanks a lot for your opinion guys! You've been great! Here's what I'll do. First, I'm going to try win98se, allthough I agree with what you've suggested, it'll be too slow or won't work at all. Then, if that crashes, I'll try win95 osr2, and finally BeOS or linux as a final way to get it up and...
