Has this happened to you?

I haven't changed my 98se desktop (background) for years... and now it has stopped responding. You can see items to choose and the arrow up-down buttons, but they don't work. Any ideas on how to put a different bmp on my desktop? Lt1

School Networking Project!!

I logged on tonight to ask a question... but after reading this... I think I'll just do some more research. Even though some questions are inappropriate, I feel that a nuge in the right direction might help (at times). Anyway, heregoes: networkzone and ItToolbox :D Lt1

Set up a network: One computer can access the other, but the one it's accessing can't access it.

Right now 2 computers 98se and 98fe. I have TCP/IP set up to DHCP. Later I hope to add another 98ffe and a laptop with W2K. Still looking around for related info. Also, I am not using a router... just a 4-port LAN modem (Eicon, diva). Both machines connect to internet thru a 128k ISDN...

Help with installing cat 5 cable outside

If it was me... and I knew it had to be run outside (best fix for now), I would buy a roll, box, or spool of the same stuff that the phone co. uses to supply residential isdn service. I'm sure its UV compliant and will probably out-last you. Cat 5 or better. Just make sure you get the good...

Well, looks like the price of speed just went up... for me anyway! Guess the flexibility of adding more stations later is too much to resist. Do you have advice on which routers to stay away from... I'm just starting to shop around? Tks, Lt1

Need some info about ISDN

Can anybody tell me where to get information on isdn modems, dual data, and related subject matter? Since dsl and cable are not avalable in my area. Also, I heard that I might incur costly connect and disconnect charges (thru modem)...why would it be better if I let it stay connected? Thanks Lt1

comp. not booting at 133 fsb....

I'm not sure if the 1.2 Tbird comes with the L-7 bridge unlocked, but on smaller chips you have to manually unlock L-7 to be able to run 133 fsb Hope this helps, Lt1

Suggestions on multi-OS system

I guess you already know about partition magic? If not, you can select what ever drive you want to be boot-able with a click. Only allows one drive at a time to be bootable (makes sence dosen't it). LOL, Lt1

Well as far as technical flashing... looks like Bac and Yos have pretty much answered your question. So here goes some info on "flashing in general". Personally, I prefer a somewhat long trenchcoat. Also get some pants and cut the legs off just above the knees. You can use rubber...
