CPU problem

Hi, I have an ABIT KX7-333 mother board with an Athlon XP 1900 chip. I have got my machine booting up but whenever I go into the BIOS and change the CPU type from the current setting (1500+133) to the correct setting, 1900 and save the changes, then the machine reboots but doesn't come up...

AMD KX7-333 problems

Right, I think I may have sorted it now. I have found the Award Bios beep codes on the web which is the BIOS that the AMD KX7 uses and not as I first thought - Phoenix, and the set of one beep three times in succession means it is memory. So I have sent that back and bought some memory from...

AMD KX7-333 problems

Hi, I think I may have sorted it now. I have looked up the motherboard again and it says that it has an Award Bios, which if the beep codes are correct it is the memory which is at fault. I have sent this memory back and bought some from critical so hopefully it is ok. Thanks for your help.

I am sure everything is seated properly, 250 watt power supplu you think that might be the problem. It was still posting though even when the cd-writer and hard drive were disconnected ?

AMD KX7-333 problems

yeah i have doen that found a website that has the beep codes for AMI and Phoenix BIOS chips. The AMI sounds liek mine (not at my house so I cannot look at the machine) and it says on one beep like that it is the System RAM failure and I ahve to get another mobo. Oh the joys of personal computing.

VIA not detecting DDR, what could be wrong?

Hi, I think I am having the same problem I have a AMD KX7-333 mobo and 256Mb of DDR PC 2700 memory and when I power up it beeps once for a second about every two seconds. Does this sound like your problem ? i am also using an Athlon XP 1900 CPU and 250 watt power supply. Any help from you...

AMD KX7-333 problems

Hi, I am having a problem with my AMD KX7-333 motherboard and I thinks ome memory. On booting up it beeps for a second every two seconds or so, I have tried mobving the memory around between different dimm slots and trying again but it just doesn't work. Has any one got any ideas ?
