Blown capacitors on 8600GT

Apparently a few pops were heard from the computer and this is what was found. What are some possible causes for this? Was it just some bad capacitors on the card itself or could the PSU have been the culprit? Oh and the card has never been overclocked afaik. *Pics*...

What's your favorite browser right now?

Adblock Plus doesn't block anything and doesn't come with filters by default. That is, unless you subscribe to one of the filters that it shows you when you first run it. You could also just subscribe to Easylist here http://easylist.adblockplus.org/ Control + N = new window

FireFox 3.5 is slow and leaky for me

Could also give SRware Iron a try. It's a build off Chromium but with the privacy issues of Chrome removed and the auto-upater removed. Also has an adblock.ini file you can edit to use as an adblocker. You can grab pre-defined filters if you google for "fanboy's adblock"

HELP! Windows 7 x64 + PeerGuardian 2 + iTunes = Massive Hair Loss

peerblock is supposed to be a peerguardian clone that works with 32bit and 64bit systems peerblock.com I'd let you know how it works but I'm still on XP and I quite frankly don't usually bother using PG/Peerblock

Greasemonkey scripts and Opera

try http://userjs.org/ a lot of scripts use greasemonkey functions and just won't work in Opera.

FireFox 3.5 is slow and leaky for me

The gist of the fiasco was that if both Noscript and Adblock Plus were installed, the noscript extension was coded to insert 'exception filters' into adblock so that when you visted the noscript homepage, the ads wouldn't be blocked.

FireFox 3.5 is slow and leaky for me

It's unfortunate everyone's having these problems. I use 3.5.2 with well over 35 extensions without issue. But at the same time, I've always done clean installs with major releases.

Fasterfox Lite

Fasterfox just incorporates a bunch of tweaks that can be found on any search for "firefox tweaks" which can be done manually using 'about:config'. No need to install it.

Firefox vs Safari vs Chrome vs IE8 vs Opera

I don't see how Firefox is a "performance laggard" here. The only browsers that beat it in that test are the ones based on webkit which, we all already know, is the fastest. Actually, Firefox was never really the fastest anyway, especially before tracemonkey came along. If anything, Opera...

You can drag tabs out to a new window with 3.5 Beta 4. The RC is supposed to come out sometime soon.

For people who use firefox, why dont you use IE7/8?

Because it has nothing to offer. If I felt the need to switch, it would be to Opera with Chrome a distant second. Mozilla just needs to work on the general "sluggishness" of Firefox when it comes to startup time, memory use, and the overall feel. Otherwise, in terms of usability and features...
