I have the Asus M3A78-T and I really dont like it. It is very picky about RAM, make sure you read the Qualified Vendors List on the website first. I could only use 2 sticks of my geil ultra in AM2 mode (athlon x2) and either 1 or 4 sticks in AM2+ mode (phenom 2), which is wierd. Also my board...
So about a year ago I bought 4 1GB sticks of DDR2 for my new build, thinking "hur hur hur 4gb is totally overkill", and it didnt really feel all that faster than my old pc with 1gb under XP. Then last week I had to replace my motherboard because the other one was annoying me (more detail than...
I have a micro atx board with a gtx260.... looks hilarious, but with so much stuff integrated the available pci and pci-e x1 slot easily enough for say a soundcard and tv card. The only people who need huge motherboards are the triple / quad sli types, and theyre just KILLING THE PLANET...
from experience, a 2.5ghz athlon 64 dual core with a 7600gt ran warhammer online "alright", a single core 2.4ghz athlon 64 and a 4670 runs it like crap, so the cpu seems to be a very large factor. 2.5ghz dual athlonx2 or core2duo should be fine with a decent gfx card though.
sticking a single 1gb stick would result in the memory being run in "single channel" mode. A bit slower, but as far as im aware not a massive difference. Personally I would just get 2 more 1gb sticks, ddr2 ram is dirt cheap and it leaves a bit of room in case you want to use 64bit windows...
Yep that fixed it...which is annoying (or would be more annoying if there was anything physx enabled i actually wanted to play at the moment). Hopefully it will be fixed in a driver update before its really needed. Has anyone else been able to get physx working with hybrid power?
I am having trouble getting NVidia Physx to run on my GTX260. The control panel lets me enable physx, but when I try and run the demo software it says it is running in software mode (and is very slow), same with the warmonger demo from the nvidia site, it runs painfully slowly. This has been the...
I am about to build myself a mini-atx system and the emphasis will be on getting a good balance of low idle power but decent gaming when I need it. Nvidias hybrid power chipsets paired with wither a 9800gtx+ or a gtx260 would seem like the ideal approach, however I have heard that the AMD 780g...
