See I thought this would be the case also, but when I dropped the CAS down to 2, the machine posted fine but gave me a blue screen after attempting to load Windows XP.

I have a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP Rev 2.0 board and one 256MB chip from Crucial. It's rated by Crucial to run at only CAS 2.5 (it appears Crucial hasn't come out with CAS 2.0 DDR 2700 RAM yet.) Has anyone had any success getting the Crucial 2700 RAM to run at CAS 2.0 and if so how was it...
I just got this board and, the only complaints I have is the RAID controller is very limited as noted in the review here on AnandTech. No matter what perfomance setting I set for the array, mine uses a 64K stripe. I really want to run a 4k Stripe. = (
