I know I'm reviving an old topic but a couple of comments that may be helpful. From the sticky: Fisheyes are indeed difficult to get used to. You have to know how to shoot them and then know how to do perspective correction with software. For shooting them, think "opposite of a zoom" so...

Core 2 Duo Photoshop test

Mess of questions on RAID 0, Raptors, 8KNXP, and Windows XP

I have: Gigabyte 8KNXP and two SATA Raptors. There is no OS on and I need to get Windows XP installed. I hear I need to make a floppy disk *gasp* with RAID drivers on it. 1. Manual says to copy stuff from D:\Other\SiI\Si3112r\Si3112r. Are there fresher versions out on the web and do I need any...

how does this system look? also, is it missing anything?

Question: Does the 2.8 overclock better? I mean let's say the 2.8 can go to 3.0 does that mean a 3.0 could go to 3.2? Or does it not work like that at all?

Where can I learn about memory?

I was looking to build a PC around the ?Gigabyte GA-8KNXP, Intel 875P chipset? motherboard. It?s been a while since I built a PC and I can?t figure out memory. A friend told me to get PC-3200 Dual-Channel memory. He recommended Corsair brand but when I went and read the NewEgg reviews for that...

Reading through here and then reading the comments at NewEgg I can't figure out what RAM works. All I hear is that it's super picky about RAM. Will "OCZ 1024MB (512MBx2) EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum Edition Enhanced Latency Series, Model OCZ4001024ELDCPE" work? By work I mean run in dual-channel etc.

Is a DSH-32 a good hub/switch for a LAN party?

Rule #1 of LAN Parties: Never use a hub. As soon as someone starts leeching someone else's MP3 collection, your games will be hosed. It's cheap and easy to network every PC with a switched port.

GamePC: nVidia GeForceFX 5900 Ultra 256MB Shootout

I'm not a graphics card expert but why did they run every test with at least 2X anti-alias? Not that it's a bad thing I just would like to see how the Geforce stacks up with no anti-alias cranked on... or do these new cards always have it on at least 2x?

College Computer - Wait for Prescott (or Hammer), or buy now?

Are you super busy this summer or do you have time to party on your PC? If you have time, I'd buy now and enjoy your PC, but if you are really busy I'd hold off until just before you ship out.

? Best way to transfer ~2GB long-distance?

I'd put it in an archive called "File_For_My_Buddy_John.zip" and use Kazaa. That way you don't have to set up an FTP server and you still get nice recovery if the download doesn't go through.
