Anti virus software

Hi all: I am running winxp and I would like some input into which anti virus software is best to use with xp. Thanks in advance.

Changing video hertz

Thanks guys. I was hitting the f8 key to early and getting the boot from option menu. Although I could not change the refresh rate in safe mode I was able to reinstall the video drivers and that took care of the problem. Thanks again for the help.

Best board for celeron 1a

Best board for celeron 1a

What about the Asus TUV4X? My local comp store has them in stock for $130 canadian ( a little over 80 bucks american). Am looking to upgrade fairly cheap but do want a stable system.

Best board for celeron 1a

Could anyone tell me what is the best board for an upgrade using the celeron 1a. Also what boards to stay away from would be helpful as I don't mind learning from the mistakes of others. I will be putting PC133 ram in board as well.

Smart move or not?

Celeron 900 ar 1 gig?

Thanks for the replies guys. Also thanks for the tip on the clip Jhhnn. I was able to locate a Startech slotket for $18 bucks Canadian. Another $100 or so for a proc and I will have a very cheap upgrade.

Celeron 900 ar 1 gig?

I have decided it is time to go for a cheap upgrade to my existing system by flashing the bios in my Asus P3B-F and going to a celeron chip. Which should I go with as far as best bang for the least buck, the 900, 1000 or 1100? The 900 goes for $100 canuck bucks, the 1gig is $130 and the 1.1...

Thanks again Andy. It seems that I do have another question relating to flashing the bios. Which method is easier and more foolproof to do, the dos way or the windows way? I have never flashed before. The bios that is. Was gonna a few times but was always scared off by the dire warnings...

Sounds good. The only bios version 1008 that I was able to find was the German one as well. The bios I downloaded is listed as 1008f3.004. Is this the same one that you have? I just want to make sure before I go ahead and flash it. I also wonder why they don't list this bios revision on the...

Asus P3B-F capabilities?

Thanks for the link. According to the article the revision of the board that I have, 1.04, should be able to handle up to a 1.1 gig P3 or Celeron. It does bring up a question about video cards though. I am presently using a 3dfx voodoo 3 3000 video card. Any idea if this would pose a problem...

Asus P3B-F capabilities?

I am presently funning a P3 450 in an Asus P3B-F mb and I want to upgrade my processor. What is the fastest chip that I can put in this mb, either P3 or celeron? Also is there anything that I have to do to like flashing the bios or adding a flipchip to it to get the most out of the mb?
