Motherboard forum :) Kinda decided to get a cheap socket a board for now and stick with my 1800+ a bit longer, than reevalute when i can afford the rest of the htpc kit

mATX board for mobile athlon overclocking

the reason i was lookiing at the XPM is i think i could run it at standard speed i could run a cooler at low speed which would help with noise which is something i'm looking to keep down when in htpc mode. however, having just looked at some CPU comparisons, it does appear that sempron 3100...

dvd drives - toshiba 12x vs hitachi 12x vs the rest?

after doing a quick search, the general consensus is if you dont want the noise/expense of a pioneer, then get a toshiba however, the tosh has a small data buffer, so how does it compare to other drives at a similar speed/price?

the nearedt jkd school is miles away from me (there arnt many in uk) and would take at least 90mins to get too, so a little impractical :) i'll keep looking in my local area, see if i can dig up anything else apart from the 4 i mentioned previously
