Built a new computer with Raid 5, should it take this long to format?

Just built a new system with asus G45 motherboard and 5 hard drives. 1 of the hard drives is a 640 GB that I use for the OS and programs, the other 4 are 1 TB each and in a Raid 5. I used the Intel Matrix Storage manager to create the raid array. After it was created I went into windows storage...

SPAIN - Has anyone lived there?

I stayed in Madrid for about 5 days for a conference. Some of the nicest people I've ever met, I didn't speak a lick of Spanish either. Subway is great for getting around.

Question about a wedding gift

Get them a gift regardless. They are your friends, it's not about $$, it's about showing your gratitude that they would invite you to share in their wedding. I use to try to "even everything out" money wise and it's a stupid way to go through life.

Any electricians in the house?

Super easy to do, and if you don't feel like doing it, it's such a simple run that having an electrician do it won't be much at all. I'd call the sparky if you don't feel like doing it.

New computer build

Corsair 520w, 550w? After thinking about it, it doesn't matter if it has light scribe or not. I just chose a dvd burner that had nero in the retail package.

My current computer is 4 years old. I like to build them so they're last about that long. Any suggestions are grealy appreciated. The items I haven't picked out yet are: 1. Keyboard 2. Mouse 3. CPU hsf, if it has the lame push pins, then I don't want it. Was thinking about thermalright, but...

Is DDR3 required for Penryn

Since Penryn's FSB is 1333, does it require DDR3 since those are the only ones I see rated at 1333?

What's a good online source for buying bulk beef?

I was thinking about raising some cows for bulk beef, anyone ever done this, is it worth it? I've heard about some people that will raise the cows and just take them to the butcher and go back later and pick up a whole box of meat. Sounds pretty good to me.
