My otherwise functional CTX ezbook 700e boots to a blank white screen. The video card is fine -- i get a display when i plug in an external monitor. I figure the problem lies in the lcd panel itself (a sharp lq12s56 b) or one of its controller boards.

sure. i have one AGP video card which i used by itself until today. i installed a PCI card in an open slot....battled Windows ASD for a while...ta da! but i'm sure there are others on this forum who are *much* more experienced with this than i.
I finally got a second vid card and set up multimonitor. My verdict is something to the tune of GOOD GOOD GOOD!!! How did I ever do graphics work with one display? :P
you can get a 512 stick for 50 bucks, as long as you are willing to go with generic high density from some random dealer on pricewatch. sounds like a plan to me. :D
