Creative a bust?

The new X-Fi Gamer with the heatsink on the DPS is a good card. It is perfect for gaming or listening to most music. It's not a home theater card but how many gamers are using their setup in a home theater? Very few I'd guess.

YAMT: Dual purpose bikes on streets/highways

YAMT: Dual purpose bikes on streets/highways

Never ridden one but I don't think dual sports are particularly good for highway/expressway cruising. The center-of-gravity and wheelbase are designed more for low-speed handling. For expressways you want something that will handle well in a straight line and maybe have some passing power...

3D Monitor makes debut on newegg

Back when NVidia had good 3D drivers, I used an LCD with anaglyphic glasses. It worked pretty good, though not perfect- it was better if you went for a slight amount of depth. The colors were off, though. Now days NVidia seems to have abandoned 3D in Vista.

Advanced physics would open the way to the possibility of having much more diverse gaming experiences, though. Most gamers are so used to gaming conventions that it is sometimes difficult to think "outside the box" of the possibilities. Just an example but it used to be that every FP shooter...

I can't believe some folks are reporting that the Physx card is dead. This is simply not true. NVidia is continuing to license the techonolgy to Asus and BFG and they are still making Physx cards. They may stop making the card in the future as demand dictates but for now they are just holding...

transparency AA

I have a GeForce 7800 GT. I don't see transparency AA in games (everything else is antialiasing besides alpha textures), even after enabling it. Am I missing something? Is it broken in the latest drivers (I'm using 64-bit ones off NVidia's website).

Microsoft's mission: Revive PC gaming

If you had $150 to buy 3 games, which 3 would they be?

I would say play Deus Ex. The graphics are not great but it is still a great game. Far Cry is a good choice. It is not the "greatest" game but still playable and the graphics are nice. Also, if you like an atmospheric, but simple shooter I recommend Painkiller. It is like Serious...
