Win98 is horrible with memmory management. I have 128mb and it still has an inordinate amount of load time when there are only a couple o' small apps running. Win98 seems to have a manifest destiny policy, if there is more ram then it wants more. Unless you force its arse out then it will claim...
I will often play cd's while at my computer. Media Player 7 = very, very bad for playing cd's. The simple cd player works much better. I was also somewhat annoyed at how it proclaimed itself the default app for virtually every multimedia file that exists on my drive.
I've had my Pro2a/Duron 800 running with FSB @ 106. I think that if I get some new ram (I'm still using some old PC100. I could run at ~111-112 as I could get ther for about three or four hours but the stability sucked.
I think the board is pretty good, but I did experience a little of the...
I've been tinkering around with my new Duron 800/MSI K7T Pro2a and found that I can get a pseudo-stable 880 using only FSB (no L1 bridge stuff). This is especially amazing considering I have 128mb of generic PC100 Mushkin. What kind of luck have any of you had OC the Duron's (700-800)? Is it...
While were at it...(generators, multicell galvanic battery banks, ???)...why don't we just jump on the roof and thrown down some solar panels. Throw in some big cells for a rainy day then we're set.
Hell while were at it, why don't we roll in to the lab an build a small fusion device...
most standard mobo's won't even accept it, and if they do it is much slower than a similarly clocked unbuffered piece. (F.Y.I.= buffered/registered memory is the same thing.)

Thanks for the info. I obviously have a limited knowledge of Kingmax. I was not aware they did it all "in-house." That's one more check in their column.:)
No offense intended...I was not attacking the quality of Kingmax. I have friends that use it and are very happy with it.
However, ram can be fickle (or rather the banks/cards can be). Depending on who (and how) the chips are mounted to the PCB can make a difference (recall that there are only...
Saying PC150 and meaning it are two completely different things...
For piece of mind I'd go with Crucial, they'll make sure it's compatible and it's probably the best quality retail SDRAM available. I bought a 64mb bank of PC100 a year or so ago. After running a few diagonistics on it, I found...
