Attempts at OC'ing an Athlon TB 900 to run at 266FSB..

Tell us about your system, Ranger. I have a TBird 900 running at 7.5x133 on my EPoX 8KTA3. What mobo are you using? On mine there's a jumper to switch between 100-124 FSB and 133-150 FSB.

prepare to be stumped!!!

This may sound odd, but you may also want to try setting your memory slower. I has similar problems installing Windows (98SE and 2000.) Tried from HD and from CD. Swapped everything 1 at a time. Turned out my CAS 2 PC133 set to fastest settings was the culprit. I tuned it down and installed...

CPU fan blows in or out?

Should the fan on the heatsink blow air onto the HS or off of it?

Cooler Master DP5-6H51, will it fit an EPOX Board?

I'm using that HSF on my 8KTA3. My CPU is a TBird 900 running at 1 Ghz (7.5x133). I was running 42C idle. I replaced the fan with a Sunon high-output 60MM ($8) and slapped the original fan (was a YS-Tech btw) on the back of my case. Idle dropped to 38C, full load stays under 48C.

K7T Turbo, KK266, 8KTA3..... which has best RAID implementation?

Another 8KTA3 vote here. My only issue with it is that it's so stable, I'm getting bored. Tweaking is for fun for me than using the damn computer when it's all set up.

CPU too hot?....please read!

Sandra burn-in for temp testing?

Is running Sandra's burn-in (CPU, multimedia, memory, drives, cd/dvd) in a loop a good indicator of full load temps? My TBird 900 (@933)with Coolermaster DP5-6H51 and arctic silver runs about 39-40C idle. After an hour or so of running the burn-in it's at 45-46C. Is that enough stress or will I...

HELP!!! Problem with "new" 900Mhz Tbird

If that place is down the street, don't even bother trying to install. Just return it. You got screwed. You should have received a new CPU (don't worry about the date, just the condition.) Have heard too many stories about shops selling used as new. You paid for new, you should get new.

Thanks. I see there is some dissent. I wonder why AMD would approve the DP5-6H51 for up to a Tbird 1Ghz? That's why I got it. I will check out the Taisol. Have heard good things about them.

Adding a fan?

Here's the HSF specs. 4200 RPM, 15 CFM. Mobo temp is 26-27C. The one case fan is on the front panel, towards the bottom. It is intake. The mobo has pin headers for additional fans, I just don't know how/where to mount, or if that's the problem at all. I do know that I have reapplied the Arctic...
