What part are you willing to invest the most into on your computer?

Almost every piece of my computer cost under $200, except my monitor. When I bought it it retailed at $1100. It's exactly like MisterBombastic said. The monitor is what you stare at all day, and if it gives you headaches looking at it, what good is your computer?

DVI Quick question.....

No, DVI does not draw power off the video card. You're probably thinking of ADB (Apple Desktop Bus), which is DVI but with power and USB built in, used by Apple for their Cinema Displays.

Just got a new Geforce 4. Having problems.

Ok, so I got a spare drive that I had and tried installing Win2k on it (with the gf4). I booted off the CD and ran the setup stuff just fine, but when it restarted to run the install program it would reboot every time. So then I tried the same thing on another computer and it works just fine...

AX-7 and rubber 'pads'

I read a review of this heatsink and the guy reviewing it said that it performed poorer with the spacers than without. Tho if you're going for a quiet computer the spacers would help reduce noise from vibration.

Just got a new Geforce 4. Having problems.

I tried using the 28.32 drivers off the nvidia website, but they wouldn't install. The program ran and appeared to install everything but after it restarted windows was still using the standard VGA drivers. I really don't want to resort to reinstalling windows. Such a chore. Doesn't windows...

Gainward connections problems

Is the cable on your monitor hard-wired? If not, then you can get a special DVI-I to D-sub adapter like this one (tho 50 bucks for a cable is a rip). If it is hard-wired you'll have to stick with the adapter that's included with the card, or you could get a small extension cable. DVI is a...

Analog out versus DVI with a convertor... which is better?

250 meg zip disk - easy question

They're 250MB in the same way that HDDs are 80GBs, in that 1000KB = 1MB, so they're really 244MB, and the 100MB disks are acually 90 something.
