P4S533 Problems (cont)

It not a SIS problem. The issue is that the pin-out of the cables USB's from various cases don't match, and when you plug in the mismatched USB's if makes the secondary IDE fail. I have all six USB's working fine.

Not sure about the ASUS thing. But I had a case that had to front USB's, and connecting it did indeed make the secondary IDE fail. Also, this has been document in other threads

Do you have a case with front USB port? If so disconnect them, the pin-out in wrong (not compatible with ASUS) and it will cause your secondary IDE to fail.

evb22 Yes, unplug the cable that connects to you cases USB cables, that will fix you secondary IDE problem. The pin-out on the USB from you case is not the compatible with your mobo.

How to OC an Asus P4S533?

What is best level for this board with a 1.6a and how do I get it there? I currently have it running at 2133, with just jumperfee bios settings, is there more I can get out of it and still have it be stable? I'm a newbie, and don't really know how and what to adjust. Asus P4S533 True Samsung...

Best stable OC'ing of the Asus P4S533

P4s533 and Samsung 333 DDR

I have Samsung memory in my Asus P4S533, but I got it from newegg.com as I hear that googlegear.com was not true Samsung. I currently have my 1.6a running at 2133Mz, I have not tried any higher. Runs perfect. Antec 635 case with 350W P4S533 w/audio and lan P4 1.6a ASUS GF3 ti200 V8200 ti200...

I wanted to chime in here, as my P4533 is running beautifully. Rock solid! No problems. Antec 635 case with 350W P4S533 w/audio and lan P4 1.6a (currently running at 2133Mz, I have not tried any higher) ASUS GF3 ti200 V8200 ti200 Samsung PC2700

<< And beware of using USB connectors other than ASUS. >> Agreed, I add an additional to ports like the two that come with board, and while it booted fine, the first time I plugged in something the machine locked up and I had to reset. So where can I get the Asus 2 port USB connector/ribbon...

P4S533 problem already!

DinoGucci, After I RMA'd the P4333, I got the P4533, and it has been perfect. I stalled XP Pro, did all the upgrades and have been running it now for serveral days and not one problem.

My P4S533 came in today!

Mine actually said "System failed CPU test". If you reseated yours many times I would check to see if you have not bent a pin by mistake.
