U2-UFO Case, Rear Radiator, and Fitting with Orig Top

You CAN mount a PA120.2 on the rear in a bodgy fashion. Attach lower fan to case only. Attach upper fan to case and rad. Rad then hangs from the upper fan over the lower fan. Works fine.

Water cooling choices

Double the surface area, double the maximum wattage of heatload that the radiator can cool... in a very basic sense. IE: with 1x Nexus fan at 12v, a 120x1 radiator can cool 100w of heat down to a decent temperature. A 120x2 can cool 200w of heat down to the same temperature. A 120x3 rad can...

Thermal Sensor Placement for NB, SB, Videocard?

No - NEVER do this. Forget getting accurate results. All you can get are relative results. On the heatsink will give temp of the heatsink, not the item itself - can be misleading. Use CoreTemp for CPU Temps, GPU Drivers for GPU temps - these readings will be much more accurate than any...

Common knowledge within w/cing scene - the maximum poss heat output of an item is equal to the maximum power consumption of an item. An E6600 at 3.6Ghz with 1.45v consumes 131w... so at full load will create 131w worth of heat at most. So to summarise the maximum possible heatload of a system...

Lian Li PC-65USB - how can i cool it more?

One of the best things to do to reduce temps is to ensure there is negative air pressure in the case... ie: There are more fans venting air out of the case than there are pulling in. This drops the cases's internal ambient temp, which in turn means colder air is getting used by your CPU HSF...

How many components can one reliably cool?

Meh... just drop in another aluminium radiator - Corsair Hydrocool's radiator is the 120.1 footprint version of what you already have and would match up with the loop perfectly... should be able to pick one of those up from forum for-sale sections somewhere... Magicool also offer an aluminium...

How many components can one reliably cool?

If you want lower temps, you need to move more air thru the rad... that's the basics of it. More air thru rad = more noise. If wanting to maintain silence, all you can do is either use a radiator optimised for silent fans, or use more radiators. Don't pipe things in parallel - keep it all on one...

Newbie's Guide To WaterCooling

If plumbing in 1/4" ID stuff such as RamCoolers, invest in a pair of Swiftech F Fittings to run the 1/4" items on a separate branch. Doesn't impair the flowrate on the main 1/2" branch, and the 1/4" branch receives enough flow to do the job... as can be seen here...
