Im just wondering, the IBM has a faster RPM but is only ATA33 and 512k compared to the 5400 with ATA66 and 2mb cache?

Well I would consider that only if i had installed anything. It sounds like the HD isnt initializing or getting power i dunno what but i cut the computer on and it sounds like its on for 2 seconds and its off. ? :(
Its not overclocked, its a PII 350 on a biostar mobo, 10.2GB IBM 7200RPM 2MB buffer HDD, 32mb ram.

I have windows 98 SE. It wont start up anymore, it gets to "Verifying DMI Pool Data" and sits there, and if it does goto the 98 screen it wont go any further. Now its not detecting the hard drive. When it checks whats on the IDE channels I hear the HD sound like it spins but then stops...
