External TV tuners...

Neither, the tuner is external. It hooks up to your monitor directly without ever going through ur comp. This way, u can watch TV w/o turning ur comp on.

Should I upgrade my analogue LCD to a DVI screen?

just like what Luthien is saying, get the N6 model, it's only about $40 more (price is $170 on buy.com with free shipping) and it has component video processing and S and composite video as well. I personally bought the box so I could play my XBOX games on my old CRT Monitor, and hooked up...

Plasma TV or LCD TV with a PC

get a LCD Monitor, like the sony widescreen 23" one the other guys are talking about, and if u want, since it has a spare VGA port, if u wanna turn the monitor into an HDTV, just get the Nextvision N6 off of buy.com for just $172, it's a great box and handles everything from RF to component...

what do u use it for? u find it useful? how does the component video look? u think it's worth the $170? What kinda monitor do u attach it to and how does the image quality look?

does anyone here have any experience with this video processor box? i've read quite alot of reviews about it but i'm still not sure whether to buy it or not, it's $170, which is quite a lot of money. Also, does anyone know anything about the N5 or N4?

whats the difference between the creative inspire digital 5700 and the megaworks 550?

megaworks is digital. the decoders are on the individual speakers, and not on a separate decoder box.

Viewsonic VP171 without DVI?

get like a radeon 9000 or 7500 for cheap end stuff. or even the geforce FX 5200 if u wanna spend a little more. all come with DVI ports. All the current all in wonder cards from ATI, except the VE, come with only a DVI port.

LG Combo drive - decent?

btw, the samsung and the sony drive that i mentioned above also come with nero burning rom. not sure about the cendyne. good luck in your combo drive search.

Building a compooper. . .need some suggestions

i would suggest you get the Samsung DVD-ROM/CDRW combo Drive. it burns CDR's at 52x, CDRW's at 24x, reads CDROMs at 52x and DVD-ROMs at 16x. It' only costs $99 and it also has 8MB of cache. I just bought one of these a few days ago and it's absolutely one of the best. I would suggest only...
