Hello,
I'm running an Intel D865PERL M/B with a P4 2.8E and am using the onboard sound. I have 2x 512mb Apacer PC3200 memory modules and an MSI GeForce 4 Ti4200. I use the system for professional video editing (I am a special events videographer). Typically I use a Matrox RT.X100 capture...
Thanks,
I think the one Microsoft lists is the 45.33... The last of the 4x.xx drivers.
I'll give it a try. I use the system strictly for video editing so 3D performance isn't all that important compared to stability.

Hey,
Just wondering what the opinions would be on NVidia's most stable driver for the GeForce4 Ti4200. I have heard that sometimes the latest drivers will offer better performance but aren't always the most stable. Windows Update has an older driver listed from October of 2003. Is this just...
Hey,
Might be a little more than what you are looking to spend but try looking into something like this.
http://www.adstech.com/products/API_550/intro/api550intro.asp?pid=API-550
It is an Analog to Digital audio/video converter by ADS Pyro.
It looks like you can grab one anywhere between...
Partitioning a drive won't give you as good performance as a system drive and a dedicated video drive. Especially if you are going to try to run real-time effects and transitions.
Like MScrip, I would also recommend a higher quality analog to digital converter like the Canopus ADVC100.
A good...
Hey,
Thanks
That is what I thought but wasn't sure why the mb was auto setting it at 266. I wonder if when set to auto if the Intel Desktop Control Center just displays 266MHz the lowest (possibly default) option.

Hey,
I have 2 sticks of 512mb UNB PC3200 CL3 Apacer memory. I bought them about 8 months ago at my local computer shop. Asked for PC3200 memory and it is what they gave me. In the bios of my intel D865PERL m/b should I set the SDRAM Frequency to 400mhz? (My CPU is P4 2.8E -800FSB 1MB L2 Cache...
Thanks for the response.
The only options in the bios are...
Auto
266MHz
320MHz
400MHz
when I select Auto the Intel Desktop Control Center displays 266MHz.
Is 266MHz what it should be or should I select 400MHz manually?
Earlier I chose 400MHz and ran the Intel Desktop Control Stress tests...
Additional note...
If I set the SDRAM Frequency to Auto the Intel Desktop Control Center displays it at 266MHz. Why would this be? Can it not auto-detect PC3200/DDR400?
Hey,
I'm kind of a newbie to hardware configuration- just joined the forum tonight. I've assembled my own systems for a while now but have never really gotten into the technical aspects of it. Maybe because I've never messed with Over Clocking (I use my system for professional video editing and...
