i've heard people doing this too, but i honestly dont see why there would be so many pins on the card, yet it works on different side pcie slots

poweredge 430sc video card

is there any decent gaming video card that can be used in the dell 430sc servers? i have read some ridiculous things like cutting the end of the x4 slot and putting a video card in it, but can anyone confirm if they're true, or if there are other usable cards for this computer?

what about the pins that belong where the divider is on the slot? when you cut the plastic out, there are no pins on the slot, yet there are contacts on the corresponding spot on the video card itself.

i have a mobo with a x8 slot and no x16, is there any video card that i can use for this thing? there is no agp slot either, so i cant put my x800 in there, and the onboard video card is pretty crummy.

i just bought a maxtor SATA HD and it has the SATA cable plug, and a 15pin power plug. my motherboard (its a DELL poweredge 400SC) only has the regular 4pin power connectors. how can i use this hard drive? also is the 15pin cable supposed to come out of the power supply, or do i have to buy a...

Dell 400SC power issues

my dell's been freezing every once a while because of video card failure. the stock PSU is a dell 250W, I was wondering if thats enough for running a radeon 9700pro, 2 HD's, and 1 CDROM. when i read the recovery log its always the video card that's causing failures, if not the PSU any tips on...

Longhorn anyone?

anyone running longhorn with first hand experience? i want to try it out, but i'm not sure if my system is good enough for it (p4 2.4 800, 650ram) also anyone know if this OS is 32 bit or 64 bit?

Dell PowerEdge 400sc $275 ar

i got one yesterday when i first saw this and i got it in the mail today. i didnt even pay for the expensive shipping, that was hella fast i think its a good deal, came to $396 for me before the 100 rebate (it was 375+tax), so 296AR

High-res wallpapers

anyone know of a good site that has a decent selection of wallpapers? I've been running my desktop at 1600x1200 and it's quite difficult to find good quality background for that size. I'm mostly interested in CG art and anime, but that doesnt exclude anything else that looks pleasing to the eye...

router trouble

I bypassed the router and some things started working like the send/recieve on aim or dcc's on irc with other people behind firewalls. Still no go on half-life, but I know other people who use comcast and run the game, perhaps I should employ their expertise to see what the heck I'm doing wrong...
