Is 4850 CF overkill for 1680x1050?

I'm crossfiring two ATI 4850's on Foxconn P35A with E8400 4GHz and having no problems at all. Fast at Crysis and COD4. thumbsup; Current System Crysis 1400x960 No AA Crysis 1680x1050 No AA

e8400 overclock

I have E8400 @ 4GHz on 1.44V on Foxconn P35A, NB 1.4V, RAM 2.2V.

who regrets buying a 4850?

Jumping to crossfiring two 4850's from CF 3870's and gained about 1000 marks on 3DMark06. Definitely faster and very happy.

Defective 4870 killed motherboard

I switched back to old MOBO Foxconn P35A and keep everything the same and crossfiring two 4850's and haven't had any problems at all. It's the Maximus Formula IMO.

I'm having very similar problem with this combo. I had RMA the MOBO back to Asus. I don't think it's the video card. I'm crossfiring two 4850's on Foxconn P35A with no problems at all. It's something wrong with Maximus Formula.

Wow...this is the exactly thing happened to me with crossfiring 4850's. Initially it was working and then dead stop and can't get by CPU Init. Gave up and RMA'ed it.
