Gururu, since the day mine floppy drive went down (luckily not during a BIOS flash), I do everything with a bootable CDRW. Fast and safe. I envy you who can do 160fsb at 4:5.... Again another XMS that will not reach DDR400. We are seeing a trend....

The way I see it is keeping the fsb constant at 140 for example, if the system is stable at 4:5 and not stable at 3:4, then you would pump up the vRAM. Right ? Not sure how vCore would affect stability with constant fsb and increasing RAM speed, could someone explain. Anyway, I did blindly...

No, not at 140fsb. 3:4 would make DDR373. Not stable. Always crash in test 13, the one with the moving donut. RAM max out around DDR360. Running stable (knock on wood) at 145fsb 4:5 = DDR363. Hear people with other XMS2700 can do higher DDR, really want to know what else I can do to reach...

For me, new BIOS is only good if Enhanced DRAM is enabled. New most stable results: 145 fsb HIGH 4:5 2.5,7,3,3 std VCore 2.7VRAM This is the first time that I have passed DDR350 on my Corsair. First time that I get 9767 from 3DMark. Great !!!! Still, my XMS2700 is not giving me DDR400...

I'm going back to the old bios too. Before the new BIOS can do 140fsb and 4:5 RAM, Std vcore and 2.7V RAM. CPU and northbridge both have AS3. With new bios, cannot even get through test 14 of 3DMark with the same settings, even with +10%Vcore and 2.8VRAM. Tried everything, even 2.5Cas delay...

Answer my own question. Yep, you can as long as you don't want to backup the old BIOS. Cool with a CDRW.

Mpegv42, great to hear you can do DDR394 with you XMS2700. I have the exact same stick and can do only DDR350. Did your good results came after the BIOS upgrade ? Interested to hear if your best result before the BIOS upgrade to see if it is the same as mine. And could you give more details...

I would like to know if it is possible to backup the old BIOS before flashing it. When you run the RUNME.bat, does AWDFLASH opens up with a dialog and ask if you want to backup the old bios. I don't want to run the bat and find out the flashing is done automatically without backup the old...

My apology, you are right. 3:4 is avail at HIGH setting, not at low. I got it the other way around. And yes, I have a BG7 from Compuplus running a 1.6A from NewEgg. Re your question about the overall system perf, I have asked the same question. No one have answered it. But I've tested it...
