$300 is actually not a bad price for a projector bulb (~2000 hours of usage). My Optoma H31 spare bulb was only $250 which is very reasonable, my BenQ bulb on the other hand is $400+ :(

I've had my 3550a for two weeks, its dead silent. Much quieter than my 2500a, that was the first thing I noticed after installation and alot more quieter than my Lite-on that was replaced by it.

I too have never had a problem with my Ultra-X, got it as an Xmas gift. The only reason I sold mine was the cables were pretty stiff to work with in my particular box and to be honest I was a little nervous after reading all the posts from the Ultra-X haters on this board....omg its gonna catch...
