Ethereum GPU mining?

I am mostly a lurker / seldom visit this thread anymore, however I do want to note that mining is a way to anonymously acquire ethereum (much more-so than markets) and it's much harder to trace records for taxes and what-not.

I find it odd that they use board TDP as the comparison. 270x does not draw 170 watts during actual usage. It usually draws 120-130 Watts, no? I wonder how much power the 470 actually draws... maybe 80-90 W?

I find it great that this thread has grown so large. I stopped mining more than a month ago, once I hit 50 coins mined. My power costs are too high, and with a single Nano mining, it isn't worth it from an effort standpoint. More for you guys, I suppose. :) I find it very entertaining to follow...

None have come close to the market cap of Ethereum. Ethereum is backed by a great community and because of the way the presale was done, there is incentive for the developers behind it. Also to note, Bitcoin is suffering major issues in regards to time to complete a transaction. Currently...

I have shifted towards eth coin need gpu advice.

nvidia will probably not be worth it for eth mining as eth mining is pretty memory bandwidth dependent. I would buy up used 290s/390s on ebay if you're looking to mine eth.

$379 isn't mainstream. $149-279 is mainstream. $279 is a reach at that. Jon Peddie Research considers $299 and up to be high-end.

I stopped mining with my 290x the other day due to power costs in my city... sold it on ebay for ~$275. It sold via buy-it-now within 4 hours. You can bet it was from an Ethereum miner as well. 290x's were selling for like $300 new-in-box only 18 months ago. The current hashrate is at around...

Anybody here purchased a FURY NANO that doesn't have coil whine?

I bought a fury nano at the end of February and haven't noticed any coil whine. My nano is also at the edge of my case with easy access to open air. I haven't heard it. I will note that it does run loud if it is in an enclosed space without access to cool air. Basically, the fan is quite audible...

My brother has 2x 390s mining. I can see if i can get some stats from his rig. I actually just sold my 290x as the warm season is about to hit me and it's already quite pricey to mine at 33c/kwh here in the bay area.
