No. LCDs dont use phosphorus on the display surface like a cathode ray tube does. They use CCFLs in the back (which DO fade over time, although at a very slow rate AFAIK). In front of that they color filtering for each sub pixel (liquid crystal off = whatever color that subpixel is, liquid...
I think it would perform faster as an ultra66.
I believe its because the fastrak runs in raid internally, wether you tell it or not.. so it introduces lag in the seek times.
I didnt read the entire topic because its huge but i will chip in what i know about HSR,
There is a hardware solution in the works and its name is the kyro. It runs at like 120 mhz and the HSR architecture is refered to as tile rendering, something powerVR has done before i think. (maybe not...
Hahahh
None of you ever have any right to say that win98 or win2k is unstable when you are installing beta software left and right! sheesh :)
I say your especially insane for installing beta microsoft software... hehehe...
i think the PS2 is going to be the like the playstation
kinda marginal at first
to program for the PS2 programmers basically have to relearn everything.
NONE OF THE GRAPHICS engines are full speed yet... I am sure that they have lots of performance to trick out yet.
voodoo extreme did not ask your opinion of the benchmark, but rather your scores. If you dont have/dont care for a score, then simply dont partake, i dont see the need to bash someones thread.
7100 3dmarks.
yes, so long as you dont use it to compare computers with nvidia graphics cards in them, it is valid. you cant compare graphics cards with the benchmark because nvidia tweaks drivers especially for 3dmark, i hear
I have a modded promise ultra66 to a fasttrak66.
It works perfectly i used it for about 6 months and got a new computer and didnt use it.
Now, i installed win2k (with service pack 1) and of course used the latest BIOS and drivers,
But the oddest thing happens...
When i am using the drives...
3200 rpm? hahah dude your funny.
not even.
Seek times will go up so finding files and fragments would take slightly longer but transfer rates would remain the same. i had it on my and turned it off and it raise performance by 10%.
