Thanks for the help mechBgon! I ordered 2 sticks of the 512MB (not the kit). Thanks again. Newegg has the Gigabyte Geforce 6600 at $108 for the 128MB and $120 for the 256MB version. Both are passive-cooled (no fan).

I got this board last week at the AMD Tech tour. I am getting ready to place an order for a hard drive, video card, etc. and had a question about memory. I plan on putting 1GB of PC3200 (Kingston) on the board. A) What is the advantage/disadvantage of (2 * 512MB) sticks versus (1 * 1GB)...

Help Needed! Upgraded CPU and now Win2k Pro won't boot

Thanks for the suggestions. Temperatures are ok. CPU is at 32C. I will try lowering fsb and/or multiplier. Good idea. I'm a little reluctant to swap the cpu's, since I don't know what condition the thermal pad on the new one will be in once removed and I don't know if I have any Artic Silver...

Help Needed! Upgraded CPU and now Win2k Pro won't boot

Yesterday I upgraded the CPU in my machine. I went from a 1.2GHz Athlon to an Athlon XP 2400+ (with new HS & fan). Before I did the upgrade I flashed the BIOS to the latest version (May 2002). The system was working fine, no problems whatsoever. It took a few tries to get a POST but mainly...

Dog, Is your son ever around kids his own age? If so how does his development and actions seem as compared to others his age? I realize that no 2 kids develop at the exact same pace but if your wife sees other kids his age exhibiting the same behaviour, maybe she will be a bit more...

What's up with the .9 cents on gas prices?

Same reason most prices in retail stores end in .99, to give a "less than" felling to it. If a new cd player is priced at $199.99 people will look at it as being "under $200" but if it is marked "$200.00" people tend to look at it as if it's in the over $200 range.
