Looking for a bit of Chicago help.

Hi, I have a CTA transit card I picked up last year while on vacation. It expires Jan 01, 2011, has $13.50 on it I think. I was thinking about sending it to a Chicago based ministry or charity, and was hoping someone on this board could help me identify one. Thanks.

Can't search in this forum

Whenever I try to do a search in this forum I get thrown to a "database error" page..... (tried searching for the terms "cubid", "morex", "2677", all of which throw me to the database error page)

How would I go about making my own live Cd / install disc

Start with one of the liveCD distros, see what they say in their readme about how to modify/update their CD and go from there. I use Knoppix on a USB key as my rescue disk. Ubunutu LiveCD https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD Knoppix LiveCD http://www.knoppix.net/

Issue with an Opteron 165

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm going to look closely at it. I'm wondering if it was delidded before maybe and the lid got somewhat whanked. I put on a thin smear of AS5 all over, and when I pulled the HSF off, all I see is a ring around the HSF, where it looks like the edge of the CPU...

Issue with an Opteron 165

I picked up a Socket 939 Opteron 165 off ebay, and I seem to be having an issue with it, in that I can't seem to get it stable like I would expect. I have the chip in a Gigabyte GA-K8NS-939 board. It came with some stock cooler, but I would seem to get thermal runaway and shutdown with that...

WHS / F@H box

I run console version installed as service on all my windows boxes. And, come to think of it, on all my linux boxes as well :-) That's just a mental/philosophical holdover from my SETI days, when the console client was much more efficient than the GUI based client.

Can someone help me understand this?

My guess is that somehow your original menu.lst got hosed enough so that grub couldn't parse it. At that point, it dropped you into a grub command console, and you were able to force the boot process. Might have been nice to have actually saved off the menu.lst so you could look at it. Maybe...

Thanks for the stats..... I've decided to give it another go. Got a bit dismayed for a while with all the problems that were popping up. Hoping that the 6.24 clients are more stable.....
