Do I need new PSU ? Heeeeelllppp pls

I have thread in MOTHERBOARDS to explain my findings. That YS fan is toast and outta here. It was rated for the mobo output. Bad fan, bad boards, all to be replaced. Chalk this one up to another learning experience.

Whats your opinion of the best AMD motherboard out now??

I just bought TWO Asus A7n8X Deluxe boards and BOTH had bad fan headers. I am now looking for a board to replace the Asus. I am considering MSI K7N2G-ILSR or Epox 8RDA+. I want good bios and no crap to go bad like with the Asus. I have read other posts where these headers are bad so I am not...

A7N8x big problems !!!

Chizow - I gave the wrong impression as there was no hot swap. The power was off when I made the mentioned changes. The fan is only rated at 3.8 W. It should have been fine to run it off the PSU lines. This brings me to my update. I dissassembled the HS and chip to look at the chip. There...

Alright, here goes: I purchase a new fresh outta the box A7N8X Deluxe mobo, removed the chip, heatsink and fan, etc. from the mobo that was given me probs. I plugged in the fan on the CPU fan header and.....not a damn thing happened xcept it quivered. By manually rotating the blades the fan...

Actually it appears that I have two isolated problems: 1 - Possibly two bad mobos. Three different fans were plugged into the various fan headers and they did not operate. 2 - Possibly the YS Tech fan was defective causing the smoke. I wonder if the first mobo sent out too juice...

I neglected to mention that I got the CPU fan to operate for about 2 seconds one time. I decided to give the fan a little spin cause it was quivering an voila, it started to rotate but then quit. That is when I decided that there is some juice flowing but not enough to enable the fan to rotate...

Actually I just installed this mobo and have not set up BIOS yet. It does POST and the CD Rom and burner and floppy all go through post check OK. I also do not receive any audible warning from the mobo but then as I said I have not set up yet and not even gone into XP with this mobo yet.
