Hi guys
Quick update for you - I decided on a 27" 2560x1440 monitor, and won an eBay auction and will collect it on Monday - its an Asus PB278Q https://www.asus.com/Monitors/PB278Q/
Thanks for everyone's help selecting a resolution :)
Hi,
As thread title - for work I need a computer monitor that can take HDMI in (with two-channel PCM audio embedded), and then output the two-channel audio on a line-out connector.
As an example - this one here...
You're not wrong there, but I'm 100% used to it from another forum. I try to blame my silly subwoofer addiction on them but it has always been my fault...
Re: the A6-3500, yeah I guessed as much. I was assuming I'd ditch the CPU and motherboard and investigate if the case and SSD were...
Hi guys.
Wow, what a ton of responses! Thank you!
@Arkaign Thanks for that. Yeah I guessed 1280x720 would be something that would scale reasonably well, but you (and all the others) have made good arguments against a NUC, so I promised to check out SFF stuff. Maybe I can work something into...
Hi Arkaign, thanks so much for your advice. Any gaming? Well.... I'm not sure. Heart says yes - hell yes. Head says probably occasionally. As an example, I haven't used my PS4 in, I dunno, a year? I still dream of having enough free time and a decent system to play modern FPS titles on a PC with...
Thanks for the help and encouragement guys!
I'm working from home today and have started using this space with my laptop and was motivated to grab my old monitor from storage. Its a Dell of some sort (system info says 2001FP), its 4 x 3 (o_O) and its 22" diagonally case edge to case edge. Its...
Hey DAPUNISHER, I remember your username! How's it going?
Forums have taken a pounding from other platforms unfortunately. At least this one is still going!
Thanks guys, this is all really useful.
Re: 4K (2160p) vs 1440p, I am probably erring on 1440p. I'm unlikely to get a huge monitor and 1440p is going to be a big upgrade for me anyway.
On refresh rate - are rates higher than 60hz just relevant to games? I'm unlikely to have a machine that can...
Absolutely right to bring it up. This is why I'm being cautious. I think I might be going 1080p for a few reasons, yes - one is likely screen size (tbc - but perhaps 27" is enough) and it could make the PC running it quite expensive. Thanks for the reminder.
IronWing - thanks, good to be back! I noticed that a lot of forums seem to have died a bit because of other platforms but this one seems alive and kicking!
Ken g6 - Guilty as charged! I remember you :) I'll check in there - thank you.
