Gateway Bootup

Does anyone know how to access the bios on gateway PC? When the computer boots up,it says to press F1 to run setup or press TAB to post bios message.None of this is working.It boots right to WIN ME.Is there a trick to accessing the setup page?

Setting up SOHO

I did a little more research and decided to go with Win2k,and a hardware based firewall.So...Now the hookup. Cable modem-----Firewall----Switch----everything else.Does anybody have any suggestions on which firewall would be a good choice?I'm thinking one from Cisco.I would think their products...

Setting up SOHO

I will be running Win Xp Pro on all.I think Black Ice for a firewall.I think I know what you mean with the 2 Nics.I would be coming out of the Cable/DSL modem into 1st Nic card in the server,then out of the 2nd Nic card into the switch,then out to all workstations,right?Any helpful suggestions...

Setting up SOHO

I am in the process of building a small LAN at work(8-10 Nodes).I would like for every PC to go through the server(Which will house the firewall) to access the internet and all programs.I have it all wired already,and I need a little help with the hookup.I figure I would need a 4 port router...

I am having a real tough time with this one.While on the net,certain websites are appearing with Western European encoding,making all text and characters huge.I usually have it set on cyrilic.I'll change it back,close out,open it up again,and I'm still stuck in Western European.I unchecked auto...

I am helping a friend build his system using the ECS board.I have one question.The case he has ,has 2 usb ports on front.The ecs board has extra pin connectors for that.The problem I am having is that the labels on the cable,do not match the motherboard guide labels.Maybe someone can help.Here...

Got a question maybe someone can help me with.I have a Liteon 16X DVD player which everytime I put a cd in,I get the hourglass until I hit the play button on the tower myself.It will not auto play anything.I loaded up my o/s(win me) and all my drivers it was fine.If I put a music cd in or a game...

ME Shutdown

I hope someone out there can help me with this annoying problem.I reinstalled WinME on my Aunts Gateway computer.Everything is working fine except the shutdown procedure.I installed the ME shutdown patch,but to no avail.It just sits there powered up and the monitor goes black.Did anyone out...
