Power Button Doesn't Sleep on Lock Screen in Windows 10

Windows 10 Iso ?

If you just want to upgrade you can use the tool at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and then you don't even need to create an iso.

I ran the tool on http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 without creating an ISO and at the end it gave me the options of (and I'm paraphrasing) 1) Carrying over my files and apps. 2) Carrying over just files 3) Carrying over nothing It looks like you can do a clean install...

Are 42" IPS 120Hz TV's using the same tech as 27" IPS 120Hz monitors?

I think the reason for there being no 120 Hz IPS computer monitors except for the Korean overclocked panels is because there isn't much of a market for it. Gamers are the only large group that wants 120 Hz, and they care about refresh rate as well as pixel response time which IPS doesn't do as...

Oil Overfill on VW

Mine actually just started burning oil around 105k miles. I'm at 106k now. Maybe this will be very convenient. The first bit of information on oil overfill while I was researching it that mentioned a specific engine that was problematic mentioned the VW 4 cylinder. I'm not sure if they meant...

Oil Overfill on VW

I waited around 30 minutes after shutting off the engine to check the level. The dipstick seems to be pretty consistent when I use it. Every time I get an oil change, except for this time, it's at the max level inside the indented part of the stick. And whenever I check it between oil changes...

Oil Overfill on VW

On a 2001.5 VW Passat 1.8T. I'm not sure how much of an overfill this is, or if it's even worth worrying about.

Are 42" IPS 120Hz TV's using the same tech as 27" IPS 120Hz monitors?

It's not impossible for 120 Hz TV panels to display a native 120 Hz signal, it's just that most TV manufacturers don't bother supporting it. The TV doesn't report to the graphics card that it's capable of displaying 120 Hz, even if it can.

If you really want to use a TV as a 120 Hz monitor, you can look up which models will work with that workaround I linked. My point is you'll get inferior picture quality out of the box compared to a PC monitor, and it will take some doing to make it as it should be. Plus the model you get might...

The problem with 120 Hz TVs is that a lot of them won't accept a native 120 Hz signal. Some 120 Hz TVs will accept a 120 Hz input with a workaround (http://www.blurbusters.com/overclock/120hz-pc-to-tv/). It would be a really bad idea to use the motion interpolation feature when playing video...

Deciding between a LED monitor and a LED TV

I would recommend a monitor over a TV, especially if you're going to be using it mostly for computer stuff. There is the problem of fewer inputs. But there are some pretty cheap HDMI switchers out there. If you must go with a TV, it's better to find a TV that can have overscan shut off rather...

2010 iMac SSD recommendations?

I know some of the iMacs can have their optical drive taken out and replaced with an SSD on a custom tray. Check out IFixIt for the model number of your iMac. You could put in an SSD, leave the HDD, and make a fusion drive so you don't have to worry about managing which drive files go to...

Android - Disable Update Notifications?

By important updates they just mean push notifications. It shouldn't affect the Play Store's ability to auto-update. You'll want to get to that same screen for the Google Play Store app and uncheck its box for Show notifications since it's the one that generates the notifications for when apps...

I don't see why unchecking show notifications would turn off the auto-updates. Try it out again. Apps don't get auto-updated if they require new permissions.
