I know the Shuttle K45 has a limit of 2GB of maximum memory but can I use a single 2GB DIMM instead of 2x1GB? I had some spare 2GB DDR2 DIMMS already and would rather use them than buy new memory.
Sorry that's not the same one we have but it does look like it would use the same cables. They would be proprietary cables that you have to get from Cybex.
If his MSA1500 is using Fibre Channel then it won't has an IP address on the display. This is only for devies connected by iSCSI. Brocade switches have a console port on them that you should try first. Brocade used to have a utility on their site to do password recovery on their Fibre Channel...
How many ports is it? I think we still have one of these in our lab at work. It's always been reliable but it used special cables and not standard PS/2 cables. The one we have has 25 pin connections that break out into seperate keyboard, mouse and video connections.
Almost all NICs made within the past few years support Wake On LAN (WOL). This site has a program you can use to "wake" your server from another PC. You can also initiate the magic packet from their website but you need to configure your router to forward the port number (7 is the default).

Instead of spending all the time archiving the data to DVD why not just purchase an external HD and back it up onto there? Then just turn the drive off and put it in a safe place. It should be reasonably safe as long as it's not powered on.
Any good calendaring program should do this. If you use Outlook for email the built-in calendar with do this. An open source alternative would be Sunbird which does calendaring.
