so my thoughts on this even being possible were from reading a pdf of a micron stick i saw -
https://www.micron.com/~/media/documents/products/data-sheet/modules/sodimm/ddr4/atf16c2gx64hz.pdf
it looks like buying the 2G6 one could run it anywhere from 2666 cas 19 to 1333 cas 10. this question...
i have a dell 7510, which uses ddr4 2133 ram. the fastest i can find is cas 13.
can i buy ddr 3000 ram, clock it down to 2133 and set a lower cas in the bios manually to 12 or 11?
I have a dell 7510 laptop. it came with a single 16 GB cas 15 2133 dim. my tests were unimpressive - https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/1234395
I bought 16x2 cas 13 2133 ram. this fared much better - https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/1265208
looking at other people's results, on the...
i just picked up a 2tb wd from newegg so i sure hope it doesn't poop out. i have a raptor raid 1 74 gb i'm about to spin up so i'll be storing the answers to all the mysteries of the universe on there.
i just noticed my ddr3-1866 (pc14900) ram was running at ddr2-1600. once i changed that i DID have problems - windows boot but my keyboard wouldn't work to type my password in! at 102 bus now and it seems to be fine. what i am confused about is why my crysis benchmarks seem poor in comparison...
so here's what i find really confusing:
why is my card slower than a FTW?
ssc card oem: core/shader/mem 850/1700/3900
ftw: 850/1700/4000
oc: 910/1820/4010
mine is overclocked, but the one in this article on this machine is a regular evga ftw -...
same voltage for cpu and mem? i changed mine through evga's "e-leet" tool. i was scared of going higher because i don't know where the "generally considered safe" range is. what's the highest that factory overclocks apply? i'm guessing they tie it with greater heat dissipation but i don't...
wasn't that also true before the crazy speeds of 150 200 etc though? i thought the same thing was going on in like 202 and such. like 2/3 bus is what your agp would run at, so instead of 66.666 it would be 67.333 etc. i don't recall hearing any scary things back then.
how does that happen? haven't people been overclocking to irregular bclks now for a long time as well? hasn't that caused all the same components to work at even stranger frequencies? i'm wondering technically where and why this can result in lost data/physical damage? i'm at 103 now and i...
how hot? how many volts? what do you get on this demo? is the shader adjusted up with the core? what are you using to tweak these things and which card do you have?
this version of the software was from evga. i did not install their oc program "precision" on the disk that my card came...
