Looks like the folks at HardwareCanucks have decided to return to see how both the RX480 and GTX 1060 compare with the most recent games and drivers.
It looks as though the AMD RX 480 comes within striking distance within DX 11 (2% at 1080p and tie at 1440p) and easily takes the cake in DX 12 -...
BF3 in a test suite is exactly what's wrong with TPU - they test old games and assume that performance in this title is representative of 2016 games.
When looking at BF4, it's reasonable to think that GCN won't look as good in DX12 because of Mantle - they simply won't have the level of dx11...
Yeah, like Nvidia's TDP numbers with respect to Maxwell. ;-)
Anyways guys, be careful about lolfail9001, he's an notorious anti-AMD Poster from HardOCP and Reddit. I wouldn't waste my time engaging with him.
HBM2 has the potential to be huge, but I'm concerned that the market doesn't care for smaller gpus - I mean look at the Nano, IMO last generation's most advanced card without question and the media hardly gave it the attention it deserved.
Anyways, AMD needs to market HBM2 a bit better in order...
The 950 is dead in the new APIs - no point considering Maxwell going further. I would use the TimeSpy benches as indicative of future worst-case GCN performance and Forza/GOW/QuantumBreak as typical console port performance.
Almost every game released in 2016 has had a Vulkan/dx12 codepath -...
Have you guys even seen this game? It looks like complete garbage.
Who cares about an early access game that literally zero people will play?
PlayStation VR is where we'll see the real games and I doubt AMD will have any issues running these titles.
Kyle is claiming that this is a very...
I guess it's same to assume that the 480 will beat the 1060 in most - if not all - MS XBone ports. So, the 480 will most likely be the leader in the newer APIs.
Little off topic - I haven't heard much about the Primitive Discard Accelerator at all. Does anyone know how it's performing? Does it...

A few weeks ago you responded to a post of mine about the benefits of Asynchronous Compute - anyways, you specifically mentioned the exact same situation as ID Software has brought up here:
"When looking at GPU performance, something that becomes quite obvious right away is that...
All this arguing about which games to use - just use a random pick of games released within the past year. This makes perfect sense to me. I would also attempt to disable vendor specific options like HBAO+ and TressFX.
I was so puzzled as to why Anandtech used Crysis 3 for the 480 review - who...
Turning their backs on the consoles has given AMD their best shot in years.
I'm just saying it was a stupid move on their part to think that they didn't need the market and that their Sheild would do the job for them. They publically said that they didn't want the business and I don't see this...
Vast majority of high-profile games released in 2016 are directx12 - this is a fact and won't change.
DX12 is here to stay, many games released on the XBone will be ported over to PC with minimal effort. I don't believe this is common to just MS games, but every developer will follow suit...
About the 1060 - can this do Multi-Engine, aka asynchronous compute?
Anyone know exactly how the 1060 will fare in DX12?
My feeling is the 6GB will be an issue in DX12 at 1440p on day1 releases - perform better after driver updates.
How about we look at dx12 only - since the vast majority of games going forward will be using this API.
From the HardwareCanucks review we see that the RX480 literally smashes everything Nvidia has - or will have - in performance/$. It's a huge embarrassment for Nvidia - just look at this...
Correct - I can't believe there is no news about the 1060 and I'm starting to think Nvidia won't be competitive in this market seeing as though they haven't released a compelling mainstream part in a long time.
Btw - don't think they can get the wafers for a mainstream part either. Maybe they...
