AM2 and DDR 2 memory speeds

I was looking into purchasing a X2 3800+ for the AM2 socket. I noticed that it needs DDR2 memory, and that the specs call for PC6400. Is this correct? I read elsewhere on the boards that it could use lower speeds.

I would also like a recommendation on this. For instance, what type of ram can I get with it? I see DDR2 compatible boards, is the ram speed linked to the bus speed of the processor?

anyone know how to get the processor to throttle? Mine doesn't do it, and last time I tried to install a k7 specific driver it crashed.

Is Linux Rolling Over In Its Grave?

I am going to highly recommend against using Gentoo Linux. Since you are a novice, start with OpenSuse or Fedora. Ubuntu is my current distribution of choice, but it lacks some control panels that make windows users more at ease. Good luck

Dual boot Linux

As a Linux user of 10 years now, I just recently added a 10gb partition for Windows XP. Granted, I don't have to pay for XP because of my university license, and if I did I probably wouldn't use it. But since it's free, I use it explicity for CS and X3: Reunion. Works out good, and hopefully...

Looks like Mandrake 9.1 is out

I got them mirrored on my server: ftp: ftp.mindwarp.net port: 9000 login: download password: download I set a 4 user limit and 75 gigs of total traffic limit so good luck. I also throttled the bandwidth at 75k/s, but it should be consistant.

Anyone actually get titantv to work with the winfast PVR software? I can save the files to my desktop then double click them and make it schedule it, but I cant make it open directly from the website.

Sound card for guitars etc

Just like maybe $500 guitars and like sure sm57 and 58 mics. So preferrably we could hook the guitars in after passing through the amp.
