how to get the aero theme back.

hi i was using a program that needed to disable the aero theme in vista. i have since uninstalled the program, but the aero theme has also disappeared. it is not selectable in the personalize menus. it was working fine before i installed the program that disabled it (zoomtext).

cant install xp on my toshiba satellite under any circumstances

will intel 950 integrated graphics on this laptop be enough?

15'' laptop 2 GB Ram intel core 2 duo @ 1.66 Ghz 160 GB 5400 rPm hard drive (some promo printer, that i don't want included) $1200 CAD. The next model up has an Nvidia 7600 i think, but it is $1600 or 1700. i don't think i can afford that much.

looking for some basic advice on RAM and hard drive upgrade on laptop

crap... turns out i may know less than i thought. I'm not sure what kind of RAM i need to buy (pcXXXX), DDRx...) also, i assumed most current hard drives were Serial ATA, but it seems like laptops are IDE? is that correct?

thanks for the replies guys I don't think it is the switch on this laptop, as he can still get on the internet. I did try disabling the windows firewall on his computer, but maybe HP installed some other 3rd party firewall that i missed. I'll have a look. other than that, i don't know...

Linux SUCKS and should never be used by human beings.

haha 6 whole hours? i do agree on a lot of points though. Windows is just easier and faster to do what you ant sometimes and that is often important for me. Again though there are things in linux that are easier to do with a command line and compiling etc etc. I've stopped supporting...
