That was my first impression too, Robot. I guess the lesson for me is don't always believe what you read ....
Well, now I feel like I have to. The shot you posted looks nice enough.
YOU ARE A FREAKIN MORON. Those are UNREAL TOURNAMENT screenshots, not UNREAL ENGINE screenshots.
If I was standing in front of you, no way you'd be willing to say that to my face. Do you feel big calling people names behind your monitor, tough guy?
As for my being a moron - on the first...
I'm on a 56k modem so I haven't downloaded the Unreal 3 trailer, but after checking out this screenshot:
http://games.softpedia.com/progScreensh...-Engine-E-Trailer-Screenshot-2908.html
I can't say I'm all that impressed. Now maybe this is just a bad screenshot and the trailer looks a...
I managed to unlock everything with a different tutorial but it took me a lot of trial and error because it - the other tutorial - was nowhere near as clear as this one! Wish I'd seen this first, it would have saved me some time. Excellent job!
Oh yeah - this should DEFINITELY be made a...
Uh, weren't these the guys who pulled some kind of major PR scam reguarding a non-existent video card technology? If I remember right, they suckered at least one tech site with this stuff ... Why anyone would ever again take anything they say seriously, I don't know ...
Uh ... maybe I'm remembering this wrong (but I don' t think I am ... ) Doesn't HL2 have an IN-GAME setting that will allow you to tweak the gamma? Maybe it is just brightness (black level) but I know there is an option with a test screen in HL2 so you can set your monitor for the best level to...
Thanks Peter, but that doesn't really answer my question. Is sideband addressing a good thing - or not? Some people seem to suggest it is a bad thing. And whether it is supported by my hardware or not, rivatuner does provide the option of forcing it off, so I can turn it off, if I want to...
Speaking of which, Kevin- why does one want to turn off sideband addressing and how do you do it? I have no such option listed in my BIOS. Is it called something else? Should I use Rivatuner to shut it off?
Spunkmeyer, you smug bastard! I had a digital sensor implanted in my left eye that can detect variations in plus or minus a SINGLE frame all the way up to 300 FPS! I CAN tell the difference. So before you go making JUDGEMENTS about someone you don't really know, you should remember that when you...
I dropped four frames (from 118 to 114) in the source video stress test and couldn't figure out why ... Finally remembered that I had disabled fastwrites the last time I was tweaking my MB BIOS ... I re-enabled fastwrites and went back up to 118 ... I'm leaving it on.
IMO the only way DIII beats HL2 in terms of graphics (don't even mention gameplay) is in the area of lighting and shadows, but they went way overboard for my tastes, while HL2 had a lot more subtle effects that impressed me because they would take me by surprise.
I'm thinking of the first...
Shinei - when I enabled 6xAA in the source video stress test, it effectively disabled AA. Remember, I was enabling AA through the in-game console, NOT in the Nvidia console. I bet if I forced my card to run in 6xAA with the Nvidia console, then it might work in Source, but I'm not positive.
