hey guys, i'm about to get a new mission-critical server for work and the prices and specs of silicon mechanics machines look great. the only problem is i've never used them before and i'd like to know if anybody can vouch for their work. does anybody have any experience with these guys...
yeah, try getting rid of that router. i had a problem recently that i swore for the longest time was my isp. turns out it was a flakey linksys router :-[ also upgrade firmware in all your network components if you haven't already.
Hey, sorry about the long response time, hope somebody is still interested in helping!
yes, it is AD integrated. the correct server (our primary domain controller) is reported as being the "primary server", i assume that means it is authoritative?
here's the problem: i want domain.com to point to www.domain.com (the logical place for it to point) but it currently points to the wrong server (the ip address of the mail server). i've removed the (same as parent folder) pointer (A-name) that points to the incorrect server from...
Are the files encrypted/password protected? If not you should be able to log in as the Administrator profile (not just "an" administrator, but "the" administrator) and access them. You can then change the ownership to whomever you please.
BTW, how did you do the install? Using the repair...

hey guys, i'm looking for software to mirror (primarily) winxp installs. i was looking at acronis "true image" software but that seems a bit spendy, is there a shareware version that does the same thing perhaps? what's the verdict?
ah, that's kind of what i thought... windows doesn't support sftp at all, huh?
well i've tried installing SSHWindows on my xp machine but when i try to connect to the linux box (with "sftp username@ipaddress) i get "No route to host", which is odd because they're on the same subnet and...
hey everybody, i'm trying to set up a secure ftp server in linux that can be accessed by clients using windows xp. i've installed centos and gotten far enough to be able to log in to itself using "sftp myusername@localhost". my question is how to get a standard windows xp install to be able to...
is there any program for linux that will do everything that winamp does? i want something that will play any music or video files i throw at it, assuming i install the proper codec. a winamp-like feel would be nice but i don't really care that much. anybody know of anything?
hey guys, when i run the 'configure' file for metacity WM i get this error:
configure:9348: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
i used...
probably not. it's always good to do a full reformat when changing such a huge part of your hardware. also if you want to tweak the raid settings at all for the new system you'll need to do a full reformat, no questions asked...
